Daily Word - Ways of Life

5/30/2024

PicturePSALM 32:8 KJV
We look to God’s Word … all  scripture and the gospel of Jesus Christ for our eternal life and our salvation.

Of course, this is foremost and the essential message for everyone and understanding the sacrifice and redemption of Jesus Christ.

But there is also a joy and treasure of God’s wisdom, direction and power for us to live our lives pleasing to Him ... through the work of the Holy Spirit and our sanctification through the Word.

Let us renew our hearts and minds daily by the “washing of the word” in our busy lives.

Psalm 32: 8

I will instruct you and teach you in the way which you shall go: I will guide you with my eye.

Acts 2: 28

You have made known to me the ways of life; you shall make me full of joy with your countenance

Daily Word - Went His Way

5/29/2024

PictureLUKE 4:30 KJV
Throughout history there have been many that have blamed the Jews ... more specifically ... the Pharisees and religious leaders of the Jewish
faith of the time ... for putting Jesus to death.

That they had the power and influence to do so ... that by their will and by their hand ... Jesus was put to death on the cross.

But no one put Jesus to death ... it was always God's plan for our redemption.  There was no man .. no power in heaven or on earth ... that could take the life of God's Beloved.  It was only through His obedience to do the Father's will that His life was given for us freely.

Mark 8: 31-33

And he began to teach them, that the Son of man must suffer many things,
and be rejected ... and be killed, and after three days rise again ...
And Peter took him, and began to rebuke him. But ... he rebuked Peter,
saying, Get you behind me, Satan: for you mind not the things that be of
God, but the things that be of men

Luke 4: 28-30

And all they in the synagogue, when they heard these things, were filled
with wrath, and rose up, and thrust him out of the city, and led him to
the brow of the hill where on their city was built, that they might cast
him down headlong. But he passing through the middle of them went his way

Daily Word - Our Conversation

5/24/2024

PictureEPHESIANS 2:5 KJV
The current definition of the word "conversation" tends to be informal, casual or even "small talk" between two people.  But the older meaning lies deeper into our thoughts, our desires and who we are at the core of our being.

Once Christ redeemed us at the cross of Calvary ... the veil of the temple was torn in two ... and the door to heaven was opened to all who believe and accept Him as their Lord and Savior.

At the very moment ... we are justified in Christ ... and the doors of heaven are opened to us ... our voices are heard in heaven ... and our thoughts ... our desires
... and our place is reserved in Him ... and with Him.

Ephesians 2: 3-5

We all had our conversation in times past in the lusts of our flesh,
fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind; and were by nature
the children of wrath, even as others.  But God, who is rich in mercy,
for his great love with which he loved us, even when we were dead in
sins, has quickened us together with Christ

Philippians 3: 20-21

For our conversation is in heaven; from where also we look for the
Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ:  Who shall change our vile body, that it
may be fashioned like to his glorious body

Daily Word - Make Us Perfect

5/23/2024

PicturePSALM 139:8 KJV
Only God can wash away every spot ... every blemish in us ... and make us perfect in His sight.

Anything we try to do ... any stitch we place in the fabric of our eternal garment ... will be the weak knot that

will cause the entire garment to fray and fall apart.

But God is faithful to complete the work He started in us.  He will remove every weak stitch that we've tied... and replace it with His own... and complete the work which He started.

Psalm 138: 8

The LORD will perfect that which concerns me: your mercy, O LORD,
endures for ever: forsake not the works of your own hands

Hebrews 12: 2

Looking to Jesus the author and finisher of our faith

Hebrews 13: 21

Make you perfect in every good work to do his will, working in you that
which is well pleasing in his sight, through Jesus Christ; to whom be
glory for ever and ever

Daily Word - Your Marvelous Loving Kindness

5/22/2024

PicturePSALM 17:7 KJV
When we look at nations around the world that still have a monarchy in place ... kings and queens … princes and princesses ... we see royalty at the very top of power, prestige and privilege.  And the rest of the people fall far below their ranks in honor, class and respect.

Imagine those royal members ... coming into our homes ... dining at our tables ... sitting in our living rooms ... having long conversations about our days ... our problems ... our lives.  It would be so absurdly crazy for the king or queen of England to stop by our homes to do this.

Yet we have the very King of Kings ... Lord of Lords ... Almighty God ... who through Christ, His son ... comes into each of our lives ... our hearts ... our homes ... and cares about our every sorrow and our every need.  Their is no air of arrogance ... only His marvelous loving kindness.

Psalm 17: 1-8

O LORD, attend to my cry, give ear to my prayer ...  You have proved my
heart; you have visited me in the night ... Hold up my goings in your
paths, that my footsteps slip not ...  I have called on you, for you
will hear me, O God ... Show your marvelous loving kindness, O you that
save by your right hand them which put their trust in you ... Keep me as
the apple of the eye, hide me under the shadow of your wings

Daily Word - Never Alone

5/18/2024

PictureHEBREWS 12:1-3 KJV
In the face of every battle ... every struggle ... all that might come up against us in life as we try our best to walk faithfully in God’s calling for us ... we can remember that we're never alone.

That every saint that came before us ... every soul that has been saved by the cross as we have ... is a great witness to us ... to our walk ... and to our faith.

Above all ... Christ who walked the path of suffering unto death before us ... endured it all for our sake ... is faithful to see us through everything we face in this life ... and ultimately ... to the very throne of God.

Hebrews 12: 1-3

"Seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses,
let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which does so easily beset
us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us, looking
to Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was
set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down
at the right hand of the throne of God. For consider him that endured
such contradiction of sinners against himself, lest you be wearied and
faint in your minds."

Daily Word - Perfect

5/15/2024

Picture2 CORINTHIANS 12:9 KJV
There's a common line we say when mistakes are made and things don't go as we planned ... "Sorry ... I'm not perfect!"

But the truth is ... we may not be perfect in our own abilities and strengths ... but we are perfect in Christ ... in His strength and in His perfection in us.

We were perfected and justified the minute we believed in Christ and accepted Him as our redeemer and savior.

We continue to be perfected and sanctified through the Holy Spirit ...
daily working in us the perfection of our lives in Christ.

2 Corinthians 12: 9

And he said to me, My grace is sufficient for you: for my strength is
made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in
my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest on me.

Hebrews 13: 21

Make you perfect in every good work to do his will, working in you that
which is well pleasing in his sight, through Jesus Christ; to whom be
glory for ever and ever. Amen

Daily Word - I Am the Door

5/13/2024

Picture"I AM THE DOOR..." JOHN 10:9 KJV
One of the enemy's greatest lies is that there are so many ways to God
... that all the religions and beliefs are the same and seek the same
"supreme being" and that all these paths lead us to the "place of the
afterlife" when we die.

Now a convincing lie is often one that "feels right ... and good" to us.  But our feelings ... our human nature ... is tainted ... corrupted
... and so easily deceived.

It might feel good ... just ... and
compassionate ... to believe that there are an endless number of paths
to God and life everlasting ... but that is the enemy's lie.  One that
he will propagate until the last days.  But the truth could not be
clearer ... Christ is the only door to salvation ... and the key to this
door was brought and paid for by Him ... and Him alone.  There is no
other way ... no other path ... except Christ.

John 10: 9

I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved

John 14: 6

Jesus said ... I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man comes to
the Father, but by me

*The great brass door at Bok Tower depicts the Biblical story of creation, the Book of Genesis, starting with the creation of light and ending with Adam and Eve being banished from the Garden of Eden.
