Daily Word - Our Redeemer

6/18/2024

PictureISAIAH 44:22 KJV
As we call Christ our redeemer, it is important for us to understand the full meaning of the word "redeem".  The first definition of this word is "to compensate for the faults or bad aspects of something ."  In this first definition ... it is payment or compensation required to justification of our faults ... or sin.  The second definition is "to gain or regain possession of something in exchange for payment" ... to reclaim ... to recover ... and to repossess something or someone.

When we look to Christ ... He came as our compensation for the wages of sin and death ... and He alone rescued and reclaimed us as His own at Calvary ... our redemption has been paid-in-full.   And as the stone was rolled away on the third day, we all cry out "Our redeemer lives!"

Isaiah 44: 22
I have blotted out, as a thick cloud, your transgressions, and, as a cloud, your sins: return to me; for I have redeemed you.

Isaiah 63: 9
In all their affliction he was afflicted, and the angel of his presence saved them: in his love and in his pity he redeemed them

Job 19: 25
For I know that my redeemer lives and that he shall stand at the latter day on the earth:

Daily Word - False Pride

6/15/2024

PictureISAIAH 14:11-15 KJV
We've all heard these sayings, "Take pride in your work ... Be proud of
yourself and who you are" ... but sinful pride is a slippery slope that
leads down to the pit of hell.  The very epitome of sinful pride is who
Satan is ... the most exalted of all the angels ... yet that essence of
sinful pride emboldened him to reject his Creator and to rebel in his
own "false pride" and arrogance.

Our "true pride" ... is to only be in Christ.  We are saved by grace ...
all that we've been given is nothing we deserve ... but yet have been
provided everything by the mercy and loving kindness of our heavenly
Father ... through Christ His beloved Son.

2 Corinthians 10:17

But he that glories, let him glory in the Lord.

Isaiah 14:11-15

Your pomp is brought down to the grave ... How are you fallen from
heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning!  How are you cut down to the
ground ... For you have said in your heart, I will ascend into heaven, I
will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also on the
mount of the congregation ... I will ascend above the heights of the
clouds; I will be like the most High.   Yet you shall be brought down to
hell, to the sides of the pit.

Daily Word - Chosen

6/7/2024

PictureJOHN 6:65 KJV
Throughout the old testament, we see God's grace and mercy bestowed on His chosen people ... the descendants of Abraham ... from the parting of the Red Sea to escape the slavery in Egypt ... to the deliverance from the hand of the King of Babylon.

But in every instance of grace and deliverance was followed eventually with disobedience and turning away from God's commandments for them.

Yet they were ... and always will be God's chosen people.  But to be "chosen" is not the same as being "redeemed" ... for everyone ... even "God's chosen people" ... is in need of the redemption of Christ that was bought on the cross by His blood.  The is no redemption in ourselves ... in who we are ... in our heritage ... our birth right ... but only in Christ.

John 6: 65

And he said, Therefore said I to you, that no man can come to me, except
it were given to him of my Father.

John 14: 6

Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man comes
to the Father, but by me.

Daily Word - Delight in the Lord

6/7/2024

PicturePSALM KJV
In all that we do ... in all that we have ... we delight in the Lord.
In the good times ... when blessings are raining down on us ... we
delight in the Lord.  In difficult times ... when obstacles seem to
block our way at every turn ... we delight in the Lord.  As we work ...
we delight in the Lord ... as we play ... we delight in the Lord.  And
as we delight in Him in all we do ... He takes pleasure in His children.

Psalm 37: 4
Delight yourself also in the LORD: and he shall give you the desires of
your heart.

Revelation 4: 11
You are worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honor and power: for you
have created all things, and for your pleasure they are and were created

Daily Word - Earth Vanished

6/5/2024

PictureISAIAH 51:6
No matter how advanced our "science" becomes ... no matter the "good intentions" of our feeble attempts to "save the world" ... we cannot.

We did not create it ... and we cannot save it.  And the enemy's lie behind the entire plan to "Save Our Planet" is that there is "no God" ... "no Creator" ... only we can save this world ourselves.

That is the motive behind the lies ... the devious plan of our enemy ... and one of his plans for our destruction.

But fear not ... for we can be absolutely thankful that our Father in heaven ... the Creator of all ... has not only created this world ... but He will sustain it in His hand ... and only God can bring it to its end when He is ready ... and not before.

But even more ... He has provided us with His salvation and righteousness in Christ, forever.  Amen.

Isaiah 51:6

Lift up your eyes to the heavens, and look on the earth beneath: for the heavens shall vanish away like smoke, and the earth shall wax old like a garment, and they that dwell therein shall die in like manner: but my salvation shall be for ever, and my righteousness shall not be abolished

Daily Word - Humbled

6/4/2024

PicturePHILIPPIANS 2:5-8 KJV
There are times when our pride rears up inside of us  ... and the
feeling of self-righteousness takes over our emotions ... and we feel
justified in lashing out to whatever and whoever we feel may be
questioning our abilities ... our performance ... our worth.

In those times ... we can look to Christ ... the Beloved Son of God ...
who came not as a glorious King ... but as an ordinary man ... with only
a heart of obedience and love for His Father ... and for us ... and humbled
Himself unto suffering and His death on the cross for all.

Philippians 2: 5-8

Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus:  Who, being in
the form of God ... made himself of no reputation, and took on him the
form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men:  And being found
in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient to death,
even the death of the cross

Daily Word - God's Promises

6/1/2024

PictureROMANS 8:39 KJV
All of God's promises are true and unchanging.  His Word ... Jesus Christ ... is our foundation on which we stand.

Everything else in this world will eventually pass away, but God's promise to us ... His great love for us ... through Christ ... will never end.  Amen.

Isaiah 54:10

For the mountains shall depart, and the hills be removed; but my kindness shall not depart from you, neither shall the covenant of my peace be removed, said the LORD

Romans 8:39

Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
