Daily Word - I Am Vile

6/7/2025

Questioning God, His wisdom and judgements has always been a plague of
our sinful nature.  Our flesh cries out " how unfair ... unjust ...
cruel", to the One who is righteous ... gracious ... and just.

We can look at the life of Job ... who was a man described as "perfect
and upright, and one that feared God" ... yet the devil's accusation was
that his faith and obedience was only because God had blessed him with
everything.  So God ... in His perfect wisdom and purpose ... allowed
the devil to strip Job of everything he had ... wealth ... family ...
and health ... and Job is left questioning what he did to deserve this
punishment ... until God speaks to Job and explains the unexplainable.

God's word promises that He works 'ALL THINGS TO GOOD' for those who
love Him and are called according to His purpose.  Not just good things
... or beautiful things ... but all things.  And we must trust that God
... who knows all things ... created all things ... and shall one day
end all things ... will be faithful in everything.  We are in His hands
... no matter our circumstances ... He is with us.

Job 40: 1-8
The LORD answered Job, and said ... Shall he that contends with the
Almighty instruct him? he that reproves God, let him answer it.
Then Job answered the LORD, and said ... Behold, I am vile; what shall I
answer you? I will lay my hand on my mouth. Once have I spoken; but I
will not answer ... yes, twice; but I will proceed no further.
Then answered the LORD to Job ... Gird up your loins now like a man: I
will demand of you, and declare you to me. Will you also cancel my
judgment?  Will you condemn me, that you may be righteous?  Have you an
arm like God? or can you thunder with a voice like him?

Daily Word - Shut In

Daily Word - Shut In

God's patience and mercy towards man's evil ways was over ... and after
decades of building this massive ark ... God instructed Noah to take all
his family and every kind of animal into the ark ... and God's hand shut
them in ... and protected them from the destruction of everything that
was on the earth.

Thousands of years after the flood ... God's mercy and grace continues
to be provided through His Son ... Jesus Christ ... who is our ark of
the new covenant ... and we must also be completely "shut in" to His
ark, founded on the blood of Jesus ... as our covering ... our
protection ... from the evil that surrounds us ... and the day of
destruction ... only through Jesus Christ ... our Ark of the New Covenant.

Genesis 7: 16
Noah, and ... the sons of Noah ... Noah's wife, and the three wives ...
and every beast after his kind ... went in male and female ... as God
had commanded him: and the LORD shut him in

Hebrews 11: 7
By faith Noah, being warned of God of things not seen as yet ...
prepared an ark to the saving of his house ... and became heir of the
righteousness which is by faith.

Hebrews 12: 1-2
Let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which does so easily beset
us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us ...
Looking to Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy
that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is
set down at the right hand of the throne of God

Daily Word - Humble

Daily Word - Humble

Dear Lord, help us to humble ourselves ... to be meek and lowly in
spirit ... that we would bow down our lives before You ... and you might
lift us up and exalt us to glory through your Son, Jesus Christ.

Matthew 23: 12
And whoever shall exalt himself shall be abased; and he that shall
humble himself shall be exalted

Philippians 2: 8
Being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient
to death, even the death of the cross.

1 Peter 5: 6
Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may
exalt you in due time:

Daily Word - Walk in the Spirit

Daily Word - Walk in the Spirit

There is only one answer in the battle of our flesh ... the gift of the
Holy Spirit through Christ.  The fact that nearly everything we do each
and every day ... eat ... drink ... sleep ... work ... exercise ... play
... is for the benefit and life of our bodies. Whereas the things that
feed our spirit ... prayer ... studying the word ... ministering to
others ... our testimonies for Christ ... these may be but a fraction of
our time.  But as we continue to grow in grace ... and feed our spirit
... we will overcome the lusts of the flesh ... and flourish in the
fruits of the Spirit.

Galatians 5: 16-17
Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh.
For the flesh lusts against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh

Galatians 5: 19-21
Now the works of the flesh are ... Adultery, fornication, uncleanness,
lasciviousness ... Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, jealousies,
wrath, strife, seditions, heresies ... Contentions, murders,
drunkenness, revelings ... that they which do such things shall not
inherit the kingdom of God

Galations 5:  22-25
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, long-suffering,
gentleness, goodness, faith ... Meekness, temperance: against such there
is no law.   And they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with
the affections and lusts.  If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in
the Spirit

Daily Word - Bless the Lord

Daily Word - Bless the Lord

It stands to reason, that as we get older, we see more clearly the
blessings and works of the Lord in our lives.  When we are younger ...
there's just too much going on ... the "bright lights" of this life
distract our attention ... and we don't notice the soft glow of God's
everlasting grace towards us.  But as we get older, and the attraction
of the world's offering begins to fade ... we see God's faithfulness
through all our troubles ... all our infirmities ... all our pain and
suffering ... His answers to all our prayers ... and the blessings we've
received from His hand ... all our lives.

Psalm 103: 1-4
Bless the LORD, O my soul: and all that is within me, bless his holy name.
Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits:
Who forgives all your iniquities; who heals all your diseases;
Who redeems your life from destruction; who crowns you with loving
kindness and tender mercies

Psalm 103: 20-22
Bless the LORD, you his angels, that excel in strength, that do his
commandments, hearkening to the voice of his word.
Bless you the LORD, all you his hosts; you ministers of his, that do his
pleasure.
Bless the LORD, all his works in all places of his dominion: bless the
LORD, O my soul.

Daily Word - Not by Works

Daily Word - Not by Works

We have been born into a world of consequence ... sin and death ... and
our minds have taken shape in this environment of "cause and effect" ...
"Do good" and I am rewarded ... "Do bad" and I am punished ... which is
the basis of so many trying to earn the grace of God ... and the gift of
salvation.

But God's grace and mercy is not subject to what we've done ... or what
we can ever do.  His grace and mercy was promised from before creation
... and bestowed upon us before we ever knew Him ... But by His grace
which was poured upon us by the blood of Christ ... we have been
justified.  By His Holy Spirit ... we are being sanctified ... and by
His eternal love ... we are adopted as His heirs, to glory.

Romans 5: 8-10
But God commends his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners,
Christ died for us ... being now justified by his blood, we shall be
saved from wrath through him.  For if, when we were enemies, we were
reconciled to God by the death of his Son ... being reconciled, we shall
be saved by his life

Titus 3: 3-7
For we ourselves also were ... foolish, disobedient, deceived, serving
divers lusts and pleasures, living in malice and envy, hateful, and
hating one another.  But after that the kindness and love of God our
Savior ... Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but
according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and
renewing of the Holy Ghost ... Which he shed on us abundantly through
Jesus Christ ... That being justified by his grace, we should be made
heirs according to the hope of eternal life
