ISAIAH 44:22 KJV As we call Christ our redeemer, it is important for us to understand the full meaning of the word "redeem". The first definition of this word is "to compensate for the faults or bad aspects of something ." In this first definition ... it is payment or compensation required to justification of our faults ... or sin. The second definition is "to gain or regain possession of something in exchange for payment" ... to reclaim ... to recover ... and to repossess something or someone.
When we look to Christ ... He came as our compensation for the wages of sin and death ... and He alone rescued and reclaimed us as His own at Calvary ... our redemption has been paid-in-full. And as the stone was rolled away on the third day, we all cry out "Our redeemer lives!"
Isaiah 44: 22
