In the gospel of John chapter 5, Jesus sees a man who has been crippled
for thirty-eight years ... who lies hopeful by a pool that brought
healing to those who entered in, but only when the waters were stirred
up by the touch of an angel. But this man could never get to the pool
before the waters settled as there was no one to help him.
But without a word from the man, Christ asks him, "Will you be made whole." The man does not know who Jesus is ... and begins to explain his predicament of
no one to help him. Then Christ simply says, "Rise ... take up your bed, and walk." And immediately the man is healed.
How many years have we been laying by the pool of healing in our lives
... waiting for someone to help us into the water before it’s too late.
When all along, we have our wonderful Savior standing before us ...
saying to each of us ... "Will you be made whole." Christ is our only
hope to be made whole and given life everlasting.
John 5: 7-9
The weak man answered him, "Sir, I have no man ... to put me into the
pool: but while I am coming, another steps down before me. " Jesus said
to him, Rise, take up your bed, and walk ... And immediately the man was
made whole, and took up his bed, and walked
Isaiah 53:5
But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our
iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was on him; and with his
stripes we are healed.
Prayer: Lord, let us say to You today, 'I will be made whole' and receive the hope through Christ that we will be made whole and receive Life Everlasting. Amen
