'Why the King James Version?' -
The Chart shown below outlines the main differences between the King James Version of the Bible, and many of the 'Modern' (and not-so-modern) Versions in use today.
In brief, the King James was translated from the Majority Texts in use by true believers that were uncorrupted by the Minority Texts with Gnostic beliefs from Alexandria.
These Minority Texts have made their way into most Modern Translations, as well as the Vatican Roman Catholic Bibles, and the Nestles Text widely used for these translations.
What about the 'Archaic' Language? Words such as Ye and Thou were no longer in use even in King James' Day. The translators used these words for more precise clarity:
For instance, the modern English word You can mean just one person or many persons. However, Thou always indicates just one person, whereas Ye indicates 'all of you'.
In speaking to the Sadducees in Matthew 22:29 Jesus answered, "Ye do err, not knowing the scriptures, nor the power of God..." - meaning that they were ALL in error.
There are many other reasons why the King James Bible is a superior translation as well. Please see some of the links below for more information on this important subject.
As Christians, it's vital to know the actual words that God has spoken to us through his Bible. And being the very word of God, why should it not have a 'majestic' ring to it?
