Daily Word - The Word of God

2 TIMOTHY 3:16 KJV

The "nature" of our flesh is to be attracted to "greatness" ... whether
is be gifted athletes, performers or dynamic leaders,

We admire ...sometimes revere ... these people or leaders, who may, in the eyes of the world, tower above us.

But we need to measure all things against the Word of God, which is Christ, and His example. It's not "greatness" that Jesus spoke or lived ... but a life of service and sacrifice ...even unto death ... in obedience to God, our Father in Heaven.

We must consider and scrutinize all we hear ... all we're told ... all we're instructed to follow ... by the Word of God ... as it is written, "Jesus Christ, the same yesterday, and today, and forever" (Hebrews 13:1). The Word of God never changes.

Matthew 22:29

Jesus answered and said to them, Ye do err, not knowing the scriptures, nor the power of God

2 Timothy 3:16

All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness

Daily Word - Perfect Atonement

LEVITICUS 16: 8-10 KJV

In Leviticus 16, Aaron is instructed how to perform the sacrifices required for the atonement of the people's sins.

A part of this was to bring two goats, one to be sacrificed and the other to be the "scapegoat" which was lead into the wilderness, carrying away the sins of the people, as an atonement each year.

In contrast, Jesus' death at Calvary was both the sacrifice and the scapegoat ... which carried away the sins of the world. It was the only sacrifice required to redeem us all from the chains of sin and death.

No other atonement was needed ... and the propitiation of the cross never runs out ... with our Savior's last words at Calvary, He said "It is finished". Amen and thank you Father ... Thank you Jesus ... and Holy Spirit ... for providing the Perfect Sacrifice for us.

Leviticus 16: 8-10

And Aaron shall cast lots on the two goats; one lot for the LORD, and the other lot for the scapegoat. And Aaron shall bring the goat on which the LORD's lot fell, and offer him for a sin offering. But the goat, on which the lot fell to be the scapegoat, shall be presented alive before the LORD, to make an atonement with him, and to let him go for a scapegoat into the wilderness.

John 19: 16-17

And they took Jesus, and led him away. And he bearing his cross went forth into a place called the place of a skull, which is called in the Hebrew Golgotha, where they crucified him

John 19: 29-30

After this, Jesus knowing that all things were now accomplished, that the scripture might be fulfilled, said, I thirst. Now there was set a vessel full of vinegar: and they filled a sponge with vinegar, and put it on hyssop, and put it to his mouth. When Jesus therefore had received the vinegar, he said, It is finished: and he bowed his head, and gave up the ghost

Daily Word - God's Provision / Our Escape

1 CORINTHIANS 10:13 KJV

When we commit our lives to Christ, our lives path won't be free from temptation, but we have been provided with God's strength through Jesus Christ, to withstand and overcome each and every one of them.

But that decision ... to resist the devil ... and our own sinful nature ... is still our choice.

But through Jesus Christ, the victory has already been won on earth and in heaven at Calvary. "It is finished". Amen

1 Corinthians 10:13

There has no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that you are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that you may be able to bear it.

James 4:7

Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.

Daily Word - A song in our heart

COLOSSIANS 3:16 KJV

As the knowledge and grace of Christ continues to grow in us through His word, there will be unceasing songs of praise in our hearts ... in our lives ... in everything that we do ... giving honor and glory to Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior ... will overflow to everyone around us.

Collosians 3:16

Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.

Daily Word – Alone In Prayer

MATTHEW 26:42 KJV

In our deepest, darkest, days ... we can follow the example of Jesus in
the hours before he was betrayed and arrested.

He went off alone and "fell on his face" in prayer. We're told that Jesus went back to thegarden three times, and each time He prayed the same words.

Another lesson from this passage is that we can pray without ceasing until God changes our circumstances or He will change us ... gives us the strength

... His strength ... to face whatever lies before us ... even unto death. Let us not fall asleep as our "spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak."

Matthew 26:39

And he went a little farther, and fell on his face, and prayed, saying, O my Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me: nevertheless not as I will, but as you will.

Matthew 26:41-42

Watch and pray, that you enter not into temptation: the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak. He went away again the second time, and prayed, saying, O my Father, if this cup may not pass away from me, except I drink it, your will be done

Matthew 26:44

And he left them, and went away again, and prayed the third time, saying the same words. Then comes he to his disciples, and said to them, Sleep on now, and take your rest: behold, the hour is at hand, and the Son of man is betrayed into the hands of sinners
