Daily Word - In Much Patience

3/25/2015

PictureIN PATIENCE POSSESS YE YOUR SOULS. Luke 21:19
No one likes traffic ... but for me, it has a top billing in my list of things that I really hate.

I find that when I am in ridiculous, bump-to-bumper traffic ...

Especially when the circumstances are well within the control of our municipality to prevent it

... Then I find myself losing my all of my patience and temper.

But it is at these times, by His grace, God speaks quietly to me and reminds me of Jesus Christ, who suffered on the cross and gave His life willingly for us all ...

It brings me back into perspective ... I'm just in traffic ... it just a little delay in life ... and I'm not dying on a cross.

2 Corinthians 6:4

"But in all things approving ourselves as the ministers of God, in much patience, in afflictions, in necessities, in distresses."

Daily Word - Our Balance Sheet

3/20/2015

Picture
Banks or other financial institutions always look at financial statements or a balance sheets:

For our assets (all our things of value) and liabilities (all our of debts or obligations).

Through Adam's sin, the curse of death was added to everyone's list of liabilities ...

And there was nothing that we could do to balance it ...

No great work ... no good deed ... no amount of money ... could balance that debt ... until the sacrifice of Jesus Christ at Calvary.

Philippians 3:7

“But what things were gain to me, those I counted loss for Christ.”

Daily Word - A Song In Our Heart

3/19/2015

PictureA SONG IN OUR HEARTS!
As the knowledge and grace of Christ continues to grow in us ...

There will be unceasing song of praise in our hearts ... in our lives ... in all that we do ...

Giving honor and glory to Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior:

Colossians 3:16

"Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord."

Daily Word - Trustworthy

3/18/2015

PictureTURN TO GOD FOR YOUR DECISIONS IN LIFE
We're taught to trust in ourselves ... in our gut feelings ...

And we often make decisions and act upon them solely on that trust in our own judgements and emotions.

But the Bible warns us of the shortcomings of our flesh and that we need to turn our eyes to God and His Truth in all that we do.

Romans 7:18

"For I know that in me (that is, in my flesh,) dwells no good thing”

Matthew 15:19

“For out of the heart proceed evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false witness, blasphemies."

The True Story of St. Patrick

3/17/2015

PictureST PATRICK'S ARRIVAL IN IRELAND - TRULY A HAPPY DAY!
The history of St. Patrick is a true story of the heroic martyr who loved Jesus more than his own life.

Seldom in church evangelism has any missionary been blessed with a more fruitful ministry.

St. Patrick did indeed help to rid Ireland of 'snakes', but it was that 'Serpent of old', the devil:

Revelation 12:9  "And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world."

Captured by Celtic raiders in the 4th century, God called Patrick to return to the spiritually dark land where he was once a slave, in order to take the gospel of Christ to the people of Ireland.

The preaching of Patrick was used by Almighty God to transform many of the Irish people from idol worshiping pagans into servants of the Lord Jesus Christ.

God empowered him to overcome powerful Druid occult leaders, bloodthirsty tribal chieftains, and a host of other dangers to help set the people of Ireland free through the message of Salvation.

False Gospel of the New Mega Christian Fellowships

3/14/2015

PictureRockin' Out with the 'Worship' Band
'No-Hope' Christian Fellowships

Ecumenical churches take great pains to avoid offending anyone, which is why they are among some of the fastest growing churches in America.

Many are coming to a Rock concert, they're not coming to hear the preaching of God's Word, and will hear only a motivational 'sermonette' that doesn't mention judgment, hellfire or damnation.

Most of the sermons given by Pastors of these churches are Psychology 101 instead of Biblical preaching. God becomes a tool for self-improvement and success.

Pastor James MacDonald was once asked to comment on the "seeker movement" and he replied, "The seeker movement [should be] subtitled: How to Fill Your Church with Tares."  (Tares - a noxious, invasive weed.)

Later he publicly affirmed that Rick Warren's seeker movement that filled churches with heathens was the brain child of the new-age 'possibility thinker' Robert Schuller.

Schuller's most recognized disciples are Bill Hybels and Rick Warren.  As a pastor, their duty should be to point out error and guard the flock from wolves in sheep’s clothing, not to invite them into the sheep pen!

Pray that the true 'Church', the body of believers, will have discernment in these last days to 'turn away from such'.

2 Thessalonians 2:3

"Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first..."

2 Corinthians 6:17

"Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing."

2 Timothy 3:4-5

"Lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God; Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away."

PARABLE OF THE WHEAT AND THE TARES:

What will happen to the Tares? -

Matthew 13:v.25 & 30

"But while men slept, his enemy came and sowed tares among the wheat, and went his way....Let both grow together until the harvest: and in the time of harvest I will say to the reapers, Gather ye together first the tares, and bind them in bundles to burn them: but gather the wheat into my barn."

Daily Word - The Right Direction

3/13/2015

Picture
It is our human nature - our imperfect, impatient flesh - that wants to “know” where the Lord is going at life’s every turn.

The Holy Spirit give us the faith to know that through all things, every pain, every struggle, every obstacle, Jesus Christ is “The Way, The Truth and The Life”...

And as we keep our eyes fixed on Him, we will always be headed in the right direction ...  whether or not we know where He is taking us.

John 13:36

"Simon Peter said to him, Lord, where go you? Jesus answered him, Where I go, you can not follow me now; but you shall follow me afterwards."

Daily Word - God's Goodness

3/11/2015

Picture'GOD IS GOOD, ALL THE TIME!'
Psalm 65:11  "Thou crownest the year with thy goodness; and thy paths drop fatness."

At each season of every year, the Lord provides his bounty and abundance.  We have cold and rain which then brings seedtime in the Spring, and harvest in the Fall.

We may have rain and cold in our own lives, too...but God uses these times to prepare us by planting the 'seed' of his Word in our hearts.

He promises to bring a bountiful harvest in our lives, and the lives of others around us.  Then our hearts also will 'sing and shout for joy!'

Psalm 65:9-13

9 - Thou visitest the earth, and waterest it: thou greatly enrichest it with the river of God, which is full of water: thou preparest them corn, when thou hast so provided for it.

10 - Thou waterest the ridges thereof abundantly: thou settlest the furrows thereof: thou makest it soft with showers: thou blessest the springing thereof.

11 - Thou crownest the year with thy goodness; and thy paths drop fatness.

12 - They drop upon the pastures of the wilderness: and the little hills rejoice on every side.

13 - The pastures are clothed with flocks; the valleys also are covered over with corn; they shout for joy, they also sing.

Daily Word - Blessings of Goodness

3/10/2015

Picture
Psalm 21:3  "For thou preventest him with the blessings of goodness: thou settest a crown of pure gold on his head."

The word "prevent" is now generally used to represent the idea of hindrance.  Here it means to 'allow' or to open the floodgates of blessing.

It also means that the Lord "goes before" us with the blessings of his goodness as a pioneer marking the path ahead of us and making it safe.

He goes ahead of us to make crooked ways straight, and rough places smooth; or, as one who strews flowers in the path of another, to make the way beautiful and pleasant to walk.

A large portion of our blessing is given to us before our asking or seeking
:

Existence, reason, intellect, the knowledge of Christ, and Christ Himself, with many other things are unsought blessings and yet bestowed on mankind.

No one ever asked for a Savior until God of His own motion promised "the seed of the woman" that would be our Redeemer.

Our acceptance of this Savior, Jesus Christ, sets the stage for us to be crowned with the blessing of salvation both now, and forever in Eternity!

Daily Word - Glory & Honor

3/9/2015

Picture
Psalm 8:5   “For thou hast made him a little lower than the angels, and hast crowned him with glory and honour.”

In this passage, the Psalmist praises the LORD for the blessings which God has already bestowed upon him – and upon all of us.

He marvels at God’s mindfulness toward man and that he has given us dominion over the earth and all the creatures in it for our benefit.

Moreover, the Lord has crowned mankind with ‘glory and honor’ and given us a position only ‘a little lower than the angels’.

With all the blessings that are given to us each and every day, we can heartily agree with the verse found at the end of this passage in Psalm 8:9:

“
O Lord our Lord, how excellent is thy name in all the earth!”
