Daily Word - Not alone

5/31/2023

PictureHEBREWS 12:1-2 KJV
Sometimes as we're struggling through trials and problems in our lives, we feel like we're all alone facing insurmountable odds.

But God's word tells us differently, and encourages us to press on and that "the great cloud" of saints ... past, present and future ... have or will have faced the same struggles we're battling ...

and that our Lord, Jesus Christ, who endured the greatest trial and suffering ... was gloriously victorious ... and is faithful to bring us through it all.

Hebrews 12:1-2

Why seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which does so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us,
Looking to Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.

Daily Word - Continue

5/31/2023

Picture COLOSSIANS 1:23 KJV
Our faith and trust in God will be constantly challenged and tested,
which is why God's Word  so clearly encourages us to persevere and
continue in our faith.

Our enemy will be relentless to tempt us ... to
deceive us ... and try to convince us to give up ... to reject the gift
of God, through Jesus Christ and our redemption and victory over death
at Calvary.

But we know that God is faithful ... He provides us all we
need to face each of these battles each and every day.

Colossians 1:23

Continue in the faith grounded and settled, and be not moved away from
the hope of the gospel, which you have heard, and which was preached to
every creature which is under heaven

1 John 2:24

Let that therefore abide in you, which you have heard from the
beginning. If that which you have heard from the beginning shall remain
in you, you also shall continue in the Son, and in the Father

1 Corinthians 10:13

God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that you
are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that
you may be able to bear it.

Daily Word - Not forsaken

5/31/2023

PictureHEBREWS 13:5 KJV
In every moment ... we need to keep the Lord at the forefront of lives

and all the we face every day ... whether we be in a time of joy and
praise ...

or turmoil, struggle and distress ... we can remember that
Jesus said He will always be there.

Amen

Psalm 38:21

Forsake me not, O LORD: O my God, be not far from me.
Make haste to help me, O Lord my salvation.

Hebrews 13:5

Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such
things as you have: for he has said, I will never leave you, nor forsake
you.

Daily Word - Jeremiah today

5/31/2023

PictureJEREMIAH 6:10 KJV
Thinking about the current condition of our nation and its attitude towards God and His Word when reading Jeremiah 6:10-16:

10 To whom shall I speak, and give warning, that they may hear? behold, their ear is uncircumcised, and they cannot listen: behold, the word of the LORD is to them a reproach; they have no delight in it
13 For from the least of them even to the greatest of them every one is given to covetousness; and from the prophet even to the priest every one deals falsely.
14 They have healed also the hurt of the daughter of my people slightly, saying, Peace, peace; when there is no peace.
15 Were they ashamed when they had committed abomination? no, they were not at all ashamed, neither could they blush: therefore they shall fall among them that fall: at the time that I visit them they shall be cast down, said the LORD.
16 Thus said the LORD, Stand you in the ways, and see, and ask for the old paths, where is the good way, and walk therein, and you shall find rest for your souls. But they said, We will not walk therein.

A picture of a wayward nation that is driven with covetousness, greed and deception.  Fooling themselves in striving after a false "peace"... committing abominations without any conscience or shame ... and when confronted with God's direction and commandments to follow ... a reply of defiant rejection.

Lets continue to pray for the repentance of our nation and petition for God's continued grace and thank Him for His long suffering and mercy towards us.

Amen.

Daily Word - Perfected

5/30/2023

PicturePSALM 138:8 KJV
We can rest in the fact that it is through Jesus Christ that we are made
perfect ... without blemish through His sacrifice ... and nothing that
we can do ... but believe and trust in Him.

Psalm 138:8

The LORD will perfect that which concerns me: your mercy, O LORD,
endures for ever: forsake not the works of your own hands.

1 Peter 5:10

But the God of all grace, who has called us to his eternal glory by
Christ Jesus, after that you have suffered a while, make you perfect,
establish, strengthen, settle you

Daily Word - Gracious

5/30/2023

Picture1 PETER 2:3 KJV
We have all experienced the gracious love of God ... the undeserved mercy
that we could not earn or claim a right to ... without the sacrifice

that Christ made at Calvary.  Yet while we are eternally thankful for
His grace ... there will be other that will reject His love and grace.

1 Peter 2:3

If so be you have tasted that the Lord is gracious.

1 Peter 2:8

To you therefore which believe he is precious: but to them which be
disobedient, the stone which the builders disallowed, the same is made
the head of the corner,
And a stone of stumbling, and a rock of offense, even to them which
stumble at the word, being disobedient: whereunto also they were appointed.

Daily Word - Servant

5/30/2023

PictureLUKE 22:26 KJV
It's completely backwards in our human frame of mind that it is greater
to serve than to be served ...

But Jesus Christ, the"King of Kings and
Lord of Lords" (Rev 19:16), was born in a manger ... and gave His years

in the world serving others and then laid down his life for all to be
redeemed ... as the perfect example for us all to embrace the heart of a
servant.

Luke 22:26-27

But he that is greatest among you, let him be as the younger; and he
that is chief, as he that does serve.  For whether is greater, he that
sits at meat, or he that serves?  Is not he that sits at meat? but I am
among you as he that serves.

Daily Word - Crumbs

5/30/2023

PictureMATTHEW 15:27 KJV
In life we often face problems and challenges that are so great and
serious to us ... so insurmountable ... that we often don't even
consider taking these problems to God.

In our own minds ... we think
that God has much more important things to contend with ... than our
problems.

But we can take heart as we look into the scriptures and the
woman who pleaded with Christ to heal her daughter ... her faith gave
her the understanding that her problem was just a tiny "crumb" in
comparison to the great power of God, through His son Jesus Christ ...
and in that instant, her daughter was healed.

We need to take all of
our cares and concerns ... and lay them at the feet of Jesus, knowing
that even the "crumbs" from our Lord's table are more than enough to
meet our every need.

Matthew 15:27-28

And she said, Truth, Lord: yet the dogs eat of the crumbs which fall
from their masters' table.  Then Jesus answered and said to her, O
woman, great is your faith: be it to you even as you will. And her
daughter was made whole from that very hour.

Daily Word - Our Lord

5/30/2023

PicturePSALM 8:9 KJV
A simple, but profound prayer of David, when being pursued and
surrounded by his enemies on every side ...

"O LORD, our Lord, how excellent is your name in all the earth" Psalm 8:9

We need to cling to this truth that the God of all heaven and earth is
OUR LORD!  Amen.

Daily Word -The cost of living

5/29/2023

PicturePHILIPPIANS 3:7 KJV
We all have to deal with the daily costs in life ... costs like food,
shelter, food, transportation, medical and every other bill we face
including ones of enjoyment and fun.

So for most the us, the value of
money ... "earning a living" is something we understand and appreciate
... but also, one of the most stressful things we face everyday ... and
it can often times become overwhelming.

But when we get our eyes off of these concerns and begin to think about
of the cost of our eternal lives ... there is nothing that we can do to
"earn" this ... no amount we can work for to purchase this ... and there
is  only one who could pay that debt ... our Lord, Savior and Redeemer
... Jesus Christ.  Amen.

1 Peter 1:18-19

For as much as you know that you were not redeemed with corruptible
things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by
tradition from your fathers;  But with the precious blood of Christ, as
of a lamb without blemish and without spot:

Philippians 3:7

But what things were gain to me, those I counted loss for Christ.
