Daily Word - Charity and Peace

5/31/2015

Picture"CHARITY AND PEACE..." Colossians 3:15-16
It often seems that the people we are around the most ... our families, our friends, our co-workers ...

Will see the worst side of us when we're facing the everyday pressures of life.

We don't intend to ... but we sometimes hurt the ones we love most.

But if we can reflect on the grace that God has shown us ... His forgiveness ... His mercy shown to us ...  His charity: self-sacrificing love.

We can remain in a place of thankfulness, from which we allow that grace in us to spill over to everyone we know.

Colossians 3:14-15

14 And above all these things put on charity, which is the bond of perfection.

15 And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to the which also you are called in one body; and be you thankful.

Daily Word - Be Still

5/29/2015

Picture"BE STILL AND KNOW THAT I AM GOD" (Psalm 46)
There will always be times in our lives where our faith is tested and our foundations are shaken ...

Our fears consume us, whether it be our health or our finances ... our family problems or the loss of a loved one.

These times may be so unbearable that we don't know how we will carry on.  But there is one thing we need to remember ...

Be still, and know our God is mighty in all things and is our refuge in our times of need.

Psalms 46

1 God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.

2 Therefore will not we fear, though the earth be removed, and though the mountains be carried into the middle of the sea

10 Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth.

Daily Word - Our Infirmities

5/1/2015

PictureROMANS CHAPTER 8
There's nothing like being on your back ...

In absolute incapacitating pain ...

That will make you feel completely dependent ...

On God, His  mercy and His grace.

At times like this, you may not even know what or how to pray as the circumstances may seem hopeless.

But by His grace, God already knows your heart ... hears your cries ... and has provided His strength and mercy to us all ...

We just need to trust and to keep our focus on Him:

Romans 8:26

"Likewise the Spirit also helps our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered."
