Daily Word - Listen

7/6/2023

Our God is patient and long suffering ... gracious and kind ... but also just and righteous.  He has provided us with healing and redemption through Jesus Christ, but it is solely our own decision whether to listen, believe and obey ...

Proverbs 1: 24 - 33

24 Because I have called, and you refused; I have stretched out my hand, and no man regarded ... 28 Then shall they call on me, but I will not answer; they shall seek me early, but they shall not find me ... 31 Therefore shall they eat of the fruit of their own way, and be filled with their own devices.  33 But whoever listens to me shall dwell safely, and shall be quiet from fear of evil.

Daily Word - Trust

7/6/2023

There's so many things that we trust in everyday ... our doctors advice
when we're ill ... our cars that we drive ... the planes the we travel on
... the news we hear or read ... and the list of things goes on and on.

But these is truly only one that we need to trust ...

Isaiah 26: 4

Trust you in the LORD for ever, for in the LORD JEHOVAH is everlasting
strength.

Daily Word - Sanctification

7/6/2023

There is only one who could sanctify himself ... Jesus Christ.  And it
is through His sanctification of sinful flesh, that we may be sanctified
as well through the working of the Holy Spirit

It is a process that we
will journey through all of lives, until that day when we have been
glorified through the redeeming power of His blood that was shed at Calvary.

John 17: 17-19

Sanctify them through your truth: your word is truth.   As you have sent
me into the world, even so have I also sent them into the world.  And
for their sakes I sanctify myself, that they also might be sanctified
through the truth

Daily Word - Faithful

7/6/2023

There can sometimes be a misconception that when we accept Jesus Christ as our Lord
and Savior ... our lives will instantly become a path of "smooth
sailing" and that all our challenges and problems will disappear.

But
the bible teaches us differently ... it not that all our problems
vanish, but rather that we have an awesome, loving God ... that is
faithful to the end.

2 Timothy 2: 11-13

For if we be dead with him, we shall also live with him.  If we suffer,
we shall also reign with him: if we deny him, he also will deny us.  If
we believe not, yet he stays faithful: he cannot deny himself

Daily Word - Hope

7/6/2023

One weakness in our human nature is the ability to "wait" ... we get
nervous ... angry ... impatient ... and even sometimes, we just give up
and quit.

Times when we're sitting in "bumper-to-bumper" traffic ...
standing in a huge line at a store ... or when we've been praying and it
seems that God is not listening ... and not answering our prayers.

But we need to fight against the enemies lies, and our human nature,
when it comes to "waiting" on God ... and to remind ourselves that He is
faithful and always answers our prayers ...

Always there when we call
out to Him ... but often, not according to "our schedule", but in His
perfect timing.  We need to place our hope in Him ... and patiently wait
and trust that help is on its way.

Psalm 33: 20-22

Our soul waits for the LORD: he is our help and our shield.  For our
heart shall rejoice in him, because we have trusted in his holy name.
Let your mercy, O LORD, be on us, according as we hope in you.

Daily Word - First and last

7/6/2023

It can be a difficult task to be "the first" in anything ... it can also
be just as hard to be "the last".  But it is impossible for us ... to
even comprehend, being both "the first and the last".  We can't be both
... in our limited capacity, we're either one or the other.

Our minds can't really comprehend the true nature of eternity, but the
day will come, when we are glorified in Christ ... and our minds will be
opened up ... understanding fully the awesome glory of His grace, mercy
and power, from the beginning to the end ... and together with our Lord,
forever, who is "the first and the last" ...

Revelation 22: 13

I am the Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the first and the last

Daily Word - Nothing too hard

7/6/2023

Whether we are facing life's daily challenges or overwhelming troubles
before us .... we can remember Jeremiah's prayer in the midst of their
enemies surrounding them ...  seizing their cities and land ... and
taking them captive ... his thoughts and prayers are on God, and who He is.

Jeremiah 32: 17-18
Ah Lord GOD! behold, you have made the heaven and the earth by your
great power and stretched out arm, and there is nothing too hard for you:

You show loving kindness to thousands, and recompense the iniquity of
the fathers into the bosom of their children after them: the Great, the
Mighty God, the LORD of hosts

Daily Word - Sleep

7/6/2023

We have all experienced and mourned the loss of loved ones ... but our
faith in Christ comforts us in knowing that they who "sleep in Christ"
will be together again with us on the day when Jesus Christ returns to
gather all of us, both awake and asleep. ... to be with Him, forever.  Amen

1 Thessalonians 4: 16-17

For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the
voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in
Christ shall rise first:  Then we which are alive and remain shall be
caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air:
and so shall we ever be with the Lord.

Daily Word - Looking to Jesus

7/6/2023

There is a constant battle in our spiritual lives ... we try to cling to our faith with all that we have ... while the enemy is relentless in his accusations that "our sins are too great ... our faith is too little ...

We continue to sin and fail ... we have not repented enough ... we are too weak to hold onto Christ ..." the list of failures that Satan casts in front of us goes on and on.

But we thank God that our salvation ... our redemption ... is not based on us ... but on Jesus Christ ... Here is a wonderful message from Charles Spurgeon on "Looking to Jesus"

“Christ is all in all.” Remember, therefore, it is not your hold of Christ that saves you—it is Christ; it is not your joy in Christ that saves thee—it is Christ; it is not even your faith in Christ, although that is the instrument of salvation— but it is Christ’s blood and sacrifice that saves; therefore, don't look to your hand with which you are holding onto Christ, look to Christ ... look not to your hope, but to the hope in Jesus, the source of your hope ... look not to your faith, but to Jesus, the author and finisher of your faith. We shall never find happiness by looking at our prayers, our doings, or our feelings; it is what Jesus is, not what we are, that gives rest to the soul

Hebrews 12: 2

Looking to Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.

Daily Word - Called

7/6/2023

Picture1 CORINTHIANS 7:24 KJV
In the eyes of the world ... society ... so often, we are judged by what
we have (our possessions) ... what we've achieved (our accolades) ...
what we've inherited (our legacy) ... what we've built (our empires) ...
but in the eyes of God, none of this matters.

Our love and obedience... our hearts seeking Him first in everything we do ... we have ... or desire ... is what we are judged on.  And our judge before us is Jesus
Christ ... our redeemer and savior.

So whether we have much, or whether we have little ... whatever our
calling is ... a father, a mother, a teacher ... a carpenter ... a
janitor ... whatever it may be, we do it all ... our very best ... unto God.

1 Cor 7: 17

But as God has distributed to every man, as the Lord has called every
one, so let him walk.

1 Cor 7: 24

Brothers, let every man, wherein he is called, therein abide with God
