Daily Word - Heavens Vanished

No matter how advanced our "science" becomes ... no matter the "good intentions" of our feeble attempts to "save the world" ... we cannot.

We did not create it ... and we cannot save it. But we can be absolutely thankful that our Father in heaven ... the Creator of all ... has provided us with His salvation and righteousness in Christ, forever. Amen.

Isaiah 51:6

Lift up your eyes to the heavens, and look on the earth beneath: for the heavens shall vanish away like smoke, and the earth shall wax old like a garment, and they that dwell therein shall die in like manner: but my salvation shall be for ever, and my righteousness shall not be abolished

Daily Word - Delight

It might not be a word that we use often, but the Bible calls us to
"delight" in the Lord.

Unfortunately, the meaning and usage of this word has become somewhat misused ... and some of the meaning has been lost. In the Bible ... God's Word, it means to take "great pleasure" in
... specifically, a person,

God "delights" in us through His son, Jesus Christ ... as we should
"delight" in Him, our heavenly Father and Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior.

Psalm 37: 4

Delight yourself also in the LORD: and he shall give you the desires of
your heart

Proverbs 3: 12

For whom the LORD loves he corrects; even as a father the son in whom he
delights.

Daily Word - Saved

Its in our nature to feel that we have to "earn" our salvation ... to
have done enough good in our lives to be acceptable to God.

But what we've been given ... the gift of salvation ... is nothing we've earned,
or could ever obtain ... except through the grace of God, through Jesus
Christ. Our salvation was bought through Christ long ago ... before the
world began.

2 Timothy 1: 9

Who has saved us, and called us with an holy calling, not according to
our works, but according to his own purpose and grace, which was given
us in Christ Jesus before the world began

Daily Word - We are the Lord's

In all we do ... and every day we're given ... we live unto God. As
Christ lived and died for us ... we live with Him through his
resurrection ... and have been freed from the chains of death through
His sacrifice. We are His ... our lives are His ... until we are
together with Him forever.

Romans 14: 8

For whether we live, we live to the Lord; and whether we die, we die to
the Lord: whether we live therefore, or die, we are the Lord's

Daily Word - Labor in Vain

Throughout our lives ... in all we plan ... in all we do ... our first
step should be to seek the Lord and His wisdom, guidance, and strength.
It's often easy for us to rely on our own abilities ... talents ... or
thoughts ... but without God and His direction and blessing ... all our
plans will be in vain.

Psalm 127: 1

Except the LORD build the house, they labor in vain that build it:
except the LORD keep the city, the watchman wakes but in vain

Matthew 6:33

But seek you first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all
these things shall be added to you

Daily Word - Nothing too great

When faced with hardships and challenges, we often resort to our own
plans and abilities to try and solve these problems ... no matter how
many times before we've cried out to God and He has answered our prayers.

Even Moses, who saw some of the most miraculous examples of God's great
power ... parting the Red Sea ... providing a pillar of fire by night
and a cloud by day guiding His people through the wilderness ... but
yet, questioning God's ability to provide enough meat to feed everyone ...

But we can be confident in this ... there is absolutely nothing too
great for our God. Amen.

Numbers 11: 23
And the LORD said to Moses, Is the LORD's hand waxed short? You shall
see now whether my word shall come to pass to you or not.

Daily Word - Glory in This

It's often very subtle ... a part of our "human nature" ... but often when we're blessed materially or physically, we can become prideful and forget that all of it comes to us by God's hand. In all things, we need to keep our perspective and boast in one aspect alone ... that we are blessed by our loving, gracious and generous God.

Jeremiah 9:23-24:

Thus said the LORD, Let not the wise man glory in his wisdom, neither let the mighty man glory in his might, let not the rich man glory in his riches: But let him that glories glory in this, that he understands and knows me, that I am the LORD which exercise loving kindness, judgment, and righteousness, in the earth: for in these things I delight, said the LORD

Daily Word - In the Midst

In the middle of Job losing all his earthly possessions ... his friends turned against him ... and the Lord's rebuke ... we can see Job respond as we all should ... giving honor, thanks and praise to God in midst of all our trials.

Job 42: 1-3
Then Job answered the LORD, and said, I know that you can do every thing, and that no thought can be withheld from you. Who is he that hides counsel without knowledge? therefore have I uttered that I understood not; things too wonderful for me, which I knew not.

Daily Word - Our Ark

In the book of Genesis, it records the events of Noah and the ark that

God designed and told him to build ... to save his family, as well as to
preserve his generations to come. As the rain and flood waters covered
the earth for Forty days ... all creation outside of the ark was
destroyed ... but Noah, his family and all the living creatures inside
of the ark were safe ... and saved.

For all of us in Christ ... He is our ark ... in the midst of every
storm in our lives, He keeps us safe and saves us ... and every
generation to come ... through His victory over death. All we need to
do is step inside the ark ... in His grace and redemption ... and shut
the door to the world behind us ... which is flooded once again with
sin, death and destruction.

Genesis 7: 15-16
And they went in to Noah into the ark ... as God had commanded him: and
the LORD shut him in

Luke 8: 23-24
But as they sailed he fell asleep: and there came down a storm of wind
on the lake; and they were filled with water, and were in jeopardy. And
they came to him, and awoke him, saying, Master, master, we perish. Then
he arose, and rebuked the wind and the raging of the water: and they
ceased, and there was a calm.

Daily Word - A gift for all

The gift of salvation was for all ... from the beginning in the garden
... to the time when Christ comes again. But it is a free gift that
each of us must accept, believe and repent ... yet God's will and
desire is that all should be saved.

Titus 2: 11
For the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men

2 Peter 3: 9
The Lord ... is long-suffering to us-ward, not willing that any should
perish, but that all should come to repentance.

John 3: 16
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that
whoever believes in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
