Ecumenical churches take great pains to avoid offending anyone, which is why they are among some of the fastest growing churches in America.
Many are coming to a Rock concert, they're not coming to hear the preaching of God's Word, and will hear only a motivational 'sermonette' that doesn't mention judgment, hellfire or damnation.
Most of the sermons given by Pastors of these churches are Psychology 101 instead of Biblical preaching. God becomes a tool for self-improvement and success.
Pastor James MacDonald was once asked to comment on the "seeker movement" and he replied, "The seeker movement [should be] subtitled: How to Fill Your Church with Tares." (Tares - a noxious, invasive weed.)
Later he publicly affirmed that Rick Warren's seeker movement that filled churches with heathens was the brain child of the new-age 'possibility thinker' Robert Schuller.
Schuller's most recognized disciples are Bill Hybels and Rick Warren. As a pastor, their duty should be to point out error and guard the flock from wolves in sheep’s clothing, not to invite them into the sheep pen!
Pray that the true 'Church', the body of believers, will have discernment in these last days to 'turn away from such'.
2 Thessalonians 2:3
"Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first..."
2 Corinthians 6:17
"Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing."
2 Timothy 3:4-5
"Lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God; Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away."

PARABLE OF THE WHEAT AND THE TARES:
What will happen to the Tares? -
Matthew 13:v.25 & 30
"But while men slept, his enemy came and sowed tares among the wheat, and went his way....Let both grow together until the harvest: and in the time of harvest I will say to the reapers, Gather ye together first the tares, and bind them in bundles to burn them: but gather the wheat into my barn."
