Daily Word - All Things Made New

Picture1JOHN 1:5
An article dated October 14, 2014 entitled 'Scientists Erase Memories With Light' states that:

"Scientists think that they have found a way to target specific memories in mice and erase them using light."

This is reminiscent of the scenes in the movie 'Men In Black' where they erase the memories of bystanders with a device called a neuralyzer which flashes a bright light.

While scientists may know many things, their understanding of the workings of the human brain are very limited, and even more so when it comes to the properties of light.

A famous quote by inventor Thomas Edison sums it up nicely:  "We don't know a millionth of one percent about anything."

Only God has perfect knowledge.  As our omniscient Creator, He understands the working of the body and mind of humans completely.

Additionally, there are many places in the Bible which tell us that God himself is Light.  One day in the not too distant future, this Light will 'erase' all sadness and pain, and He will make 'all things new'.

1 John 1:5

"...God is light, and in him is no darkness at all."

His Light is the Light of Men...

John 1:3-5

"All things were made by him...In him was life; and the life was the light of men.  And the light shineth in darkness
."

Revelation 21:4-5

"And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.
And he that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new."

2 Corinthians 5:17

"T
herefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new."

Psalm 27:1

"
The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the Lord is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?"

It is fascinating to consider how science may be able to manipulate memories.
