PSALM 23 KJV David is described as a man after God's own heart and was anointed by
Samuel to be God's chosen King.
As a boy, he stood before a terrifying
enemy in Goliath ... but by God's strength and power ... defeated him
with a simple sling and stone.
Yet much of David's life was filled with
trouble and afflictions ... but God was always faithful to rescue him
and answer his prayers ... forgive him of his transgressions ... keep
every promise ... throughout David's life.
We can be comforted that through all the trials and troubles we might
face ... that God is always faithful ... and through the grace we've
received through Jesus Christ ... our burdens will be lifted and His
promises will always come to pass. Amen.
1 Samuel 16:13
Then Samuel took the horn of oil, and anointed him in the middle of his
brothers: and the Spirit of the LORD came on David from that day forward
Psalm 22:2
O my God, I cry in the day time, but you hear not
Psalm 23:
The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want.
He makes me to lie down in green pastures: he leads me beside the still
waters.
He restores my soul: he leads me in the paths of righteousness for his
name's sake.
Yes, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will
fear no evil: for you are with me; your rod and your staff they comfort me.
You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies: you anoint
my head with oil; my cup runs over.
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I
will dwell in the house of the LORD for ever.
