This has lead to some Christian pastors and leaders to begin adopting the idea of bring many religions and doctrines together in an effort to bring about more peace and understanding in our nation and world.
But this is not what God’s Word says about our belief in Him and the world’s attitude toward His truth. In the Gospel of Luke, Jesus speaking to His apostles:
Luke 12:51-53
51 Suppose you that I am come to give peace on earth? I tell you, No; but rather division:
52 For from now on there shall be five in one house divided, three against two, and two against three.
53 The father shall be divided against the son, and the son against the father; the mother against the daughter, and the daughter against the mother; the mother in law against her daughter in law, and the daughter in law against her mother in law.
Christ reveals that if we stand on His word and truth, we will be in conflict with every person who does not believe, no matter what the relationship may be. The truth of the gospel is not to bring worldly peace, but to bring salvation to all who will receive it. Eternal peace.
