STRONG DELUSION: A WOLF IN SHEEP'S CLOTHING In doing a study on the verse in 2 Thessalonians that mentions a ‘strong delusion’ I couldn't help but think about what is going on currently with COVID.
This year's overly-hyped flu bug COVID19 or Coronavirus, has deluded many into thinking that this is some type of extremely dangerous pandemic.
The actuality just doesn't measure up to the hype. The numbers of COVID cases and deaths are in reality the same or even much less than for any normal flu season.
Why then have so many been fooled into believing the lies and false reports on the media about the Coronavirus? Perhaps we have been lulled into believing their lies because they are 'of their father the devil'. Jesus spoke truly of them when he said:
"Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it." John 8:44
This verse from Isaiah backs up the same idea found in 2 Thessalonians that it is God that sends the ‘delusions’, and who also brings their ‘fears’ upon them due to their disobedience to His word:
“I also will choose their delusions, and will bring their fears upon them; because when I called, none did answer; when I spake, they did not hear: but they did evil before mine eyes, and chose that in which I delighted not.” Isaiah 66:4
Are you believing the lie? Do not be deceived by your unrighteousness. Receive the love of the truth. It is our own fault - and the fault of the lukewarm apostate 'church' that many of us have been deceived; but if we return to God's truth we can therefore be saved:
“And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved. And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie:”
