Great News - You already have all the Fruits of the Spirit - You only need to use them!
This is such great news - and a great relief - once you realize this.
(ALL LINKS IN THIS POST ARE TO SCRIPTURE REFERENCE)
You have already been given this gift by God - It is already there for you!
"Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning." James 1:17
As a Christian, you can sometimes feel discouraged if you are not feeling as patient (or kind, or faithful, etc.) as you think you should.
But, in those times, just remember that you already have patience (& all the fruit!) and you only need to use it - it is already there.
Do not let the enemy of our soul make you feel as though somehow you are not 'Christian' enough or, worse, that perhaps you don't have the Spirit.
This is a lie from the Devil, the 'thief', to 'steal, kill and destroy' your faith confidence:
"The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly." John 10:10
Just ask for the Lord's help through his Holy Spirit to implement these 'fruits' - the tools you have already been given by Him.
As you grow in your Christian walk, this will become easier and easier, but it is like any skill or, in this case, gift: you have to practice it and exercise it.
If you are a Christian, you received the Holy Spirit - AND the fruit of the Spirit - at the very moment of your conversion. It is not 'separate baptism'.
Ephesians 4:5 tells us that it is, "One Lord, one faith, one baptism,"
The KJV lists the 9 "Fruits of the Spirit" as:
'LOVE', 'JOY', 'PEACE', 'LONGSUFFERING' (Patience; Enduring; Endurance), 'GENTLENESS', 'GOODNESS', 'FAITH', 'MEEKNESS' (Kindness; Quietness), & 'SELF CONTROL'.
THE FRUIT OF THE SPIRIT:
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,
23 Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.
24 And they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts.
25 If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.
26 Let us not be desirous of vain glory, provoking one another, envying one another.
Galatians 5:22-26
