WV Chemical Spill: The Real Hunger (Water) Games

1/14/2014

The West Virginia Chemical Spill is starting to seem like a real-life Hunger Games.

The 'Thirst Game' going on for water in WV just so happens to be occurring in the Coal District.

In the movie, 'The Hunger Games', the main character also hails from the Coal District.

The story begins in the coal-rich region of District 12 that was formerly known as Appalachia.

Hmm, so the story BEGINS in the coal region of Appalachia, where WV happens to be located.

Kentucky is also a part of this area
which has now been affected by the WV chemical spill as well.

Apparently, the chemical that was spilled into the Elk River near Charleston, WV has now gotten into a part of the Ohio River
that flows into Kentucky.

A 'capitol city' is prominent in the Hunger Games movie, as is the case in the chemical spill, which happened near the the WV state CAPITOL, Charleston.

The Hunger Games is an event in which the participants (or "tributes") must fight to the death (lets hope it won't come to that!).

The ability of participants to gain sponsors can be critical to SURVIVAL because of their ability to send gifts such as food, medicine, and tools to favored tributes.

The game is played out in a controlled outdoor arena until only one individual remains, who is then treated to a hero's welcome in the CAPITOL.

There are many similarities such as APPALACHIA, COAL DISTRICT, HUNGER (THIRST), A CAPITOL CITY, SURVIVAL, and MILITARY involvement.

I can only hope these similar aspects between both stories are not a harbinger of things to come.

Remember, though,
the story of the Hunger Games BEGINS in the coal region of Appalachia, where WV and KY just so happen to be located.

Poisoned waters are considered a 'plague' in the Bible
, as is 'cruel authority'.
